The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/132.236.156.160\/cuccap\/tag\/weng-lab-usda-ars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yiqun Weng group<\/a><\/strong> (USDA-ARS and the University of Wisconsin) conducted map-based cloning to identify the cp gene. Fine-mapping and functional characterization identified a gene on chromosome 4 encoding a receptor molecule that influences cell division in the stem apex.
