Dr. Keinath is on the steering committee of the\u00a0Emerging Viruses in Cucurbits Working Group (EVCWG), a national effort to improve detection and management of virus diseases on all cucurbits.\u00a0 The EVCWG has been\u00a0 developing educational resources on known and emerging viruses and virus vectors in cucurbits. These educational resources include a website, as well as fact sheets, postcards, and webcasts, all of which are freely accessible from the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ecucurbitviruses.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EVCWG website<\/a><\/strong>. Keinath along with CucCAP vegetable breeder, Dr. Kai Ling of the USDA in Charleston, wrote the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ecucurbitviruses.org\/resources\/facts-sheets-videos\/cucurbit-leaf-crumple-virus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fact sheet on Cucurbit leaf crumple virus (CuLCrV)<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0 Several of these viruses and vectors are problems in the southeastern U.S.<\/p>\n<h3>Cucurbit Crop Reports from Cooperative Extension Agents<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Coastal region, squash, and cukes continue to be harvested in heavy volumes.<\/li>\n<li>In the Midlands, squash are fairing well with a few squash bugs here and there.
