Cucurbit Downy Mildew: Disease Flares up in South Florida Area | Vegetable and Specialty Crop News<\/h2>\n

Downy mildew remains a problem for cucurbit farmers in Florida. The disease has flared up over the past couple of weeks in multiple cucumber fields and is still active in squash and cucumbers in the southwest Florida. Incidence and severity range from low to moderate. It continues to be present in a few remaining watermelon fields. Management is achieved primarily with resistant varieties and fungicide spray programs. Fungicide sprays are recommended for all cucurbit crops.
