In a 3-year\u00a0study, 1452\u00a0accessions and cultivars were tested for resistance to fruit blotch at the immature fruit\u00a0stage, where resistance is most important for growers.<\/p>\n<p>Of 40 resistant accessions identified in the screening study and the retest, 5 had high resistance (compared with Charleston Gray):\u00a0PI 494819 (<em>Citrullus\u00a0lanatus<\/em>), PI 596659 (<em>Citrullus\u00a0amarus<\/em>),\u00a0PI 596670 (<em>Citrullus\u00a0amarus<\/em>), PI 490384 (<em>Citrullus\u00a0mucosospermus<\/em>), and PI 596656 (<em>Citrullus amarus<\/em>).
