DESCRIPTION:\n \tNorth Carolina State University Plant Pathology Professor Lina Quesada-Ocampo\, will present  Field Monitoring of the Cucurbit Downy Mildew Pathogen: The Next Frontier. Lina will discuss progress towards developing a field monitoring system for cucurbit downy mildew that informs management decisions. She will also cover results from fungicide efficacy trials and recommendations important to key pickle producing regions to limit disease losses.\n \tDaniel Tregeagle\, Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University will present Economic Outlook for Pickles and Overview of Cucumber Seed Trait Valuation Research. He will provide an overview of the economic outlook for fruit and vegetable agriculture with a focus on the pickle industry. He will also discuss current research into valuing cucumber seed traits\, including a forthcoming survey of industry member's valuation of seed traits.\n
